A day in the life

• Monitor and analyze work orders for accuracy in expenses and adherence to budget.

• Monitor funds closure from work orders, ensuring correct collections and accurate loan coding.

• Ensure adherence to Rural Utilities Service (RUS) accounting standards and procedures.

• Apply budget project codes in accounting software for fiber internet work orders.

• Assist with budget analysis; maintain accuracy of general ledger and subsidiary records.

• Aid in physical inventory management.

• Manage construction warehouse inventory, reconciling materials issuance.

• Provide support to teammates as needed.

Requirements

• Two-year degree in accounting or related field, preferably with two years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Communicate with employees about material system and physical inventory procedures.

• Prioritize multiple tasks required in the work order and inventory process, with strict and varying deadlines.

• Concentrate on detail to ensure the accuracy of data entered and reports generated.

• Possess a high level of integrity; respect and maintain confidentiality.

• Maintain an open, honest, approachable manner, and treat others fairly and respectfully.

• Ask for and use feedback to improve performance; seek and acquire new competencies, work methods, ideas, and information that will improve efficiency and effectiveness.

• Compile information from various sources and coordinate input/output for the work order system.

• Perform basic mathematical computations for reconciliation of debits and credits in general ledger accounts, and to apply depreciation to fixed assets and overhead calculations.

• Resolve complex reconciling errors through research and investigation of work papers.

• Understand sales tax regulations, spreadsheet programs, and other computer-related software and office equipment.

The starting wage range for this position is $25-$28/hour. The wage is determined by relevant education and experience. This is a non-exempt (hourly), non-supervisory, onsite position at our Braham, MN, Headquarters building.
